Blackcurrant country associations
The International Blackcurrant Association (IBA) has members of different horizons. Some of our members are companies or individuals. But most of them are members of their own blackcurrant country association. These gather together the blackcurrant growers, some include companies from the transforming industry or research institutes.
Other members may be individuals or companies: processors, research institutes conducting projects around blackcurrants: agronomy, variety research, horticulture, sustainable production, health benefits…
All the members of the blackcurrant country associations are automatically members of the IBA.

The associations of the countries above contribute actively to promote blackcurrants, to spread the knowledge about the health benefits of blackcurrants, and to share vital information on optimum blackcurrant growing methods.

Specificities in each country
If blackcurrants mainly grow in the Northern hemisphere (but also in New Zealand and Tasmania), there are still differences from one country to the other. Not every country grows the same variety. Not every country grows for the same purpose. Generally, the growers in each country plant the varieties and the quantity which correspond best to the needs of the national industry and consumer habits.
